Marketing for coaching

We plan and steer lead funnels, webinar and launch campaigns and email sequences for coaches, academies and education providers, and measure success by cost per sign-up and revenue per lead.

Typical bottlenecks and solutions

1. Lead costs rise with every launch

Why: Coaching offers on Meta and YouTube compete for the same attention as many other providers. Freebies, checklists and masterclasses look alike, and creatives wear out quickly. Anyone who optimises without clean measurement all the way to the sale buys cheap sign-ups that never book a programme, and considers more expensive campaigns poor even though they are the ones bringing in buyers.

Solution (Funnels & landing pages (part of Performance Marketing)): We work backwards from the price of your programme and your conversion rate to the maximum affordable cost per lead. We then test entry points such as a quiz, masterclass or live webinar against each other, measure server-side all the way to the purchase and allocate budget to the combination with the best revenue per lead, not the cheapest sign-up.

2. Webinar sign-ups who don't show up

Why: There are often several days between sign-up and the live session. In that time many forget the date, the confirmation lands in the promotions tab of the inbox and the reminder comes too late. Every missing participant makes the lead more expensive after the fact, because in coaching the sale usually only happens in the webinar or the consultation call that follows.

Solution (Email Marketing): We build email sequences that accompany the appointment right up to the start: confirmation with a calendar entry, a piece of advance content that sparks curiosity, reminders the day before and shortly before the start. After the session, separate sequences follow for attendees and no-shows, with the recording, answers to frequent questions and a clear invitation to an intro call.

3. Revenue only comes in during launch weeks

Why: Many academies sell in two or three launch phases a year. Budget is then ramped up at short notice, the platform needs learning time, cost per lead rises and the team works at its limit. Between launches the list lies fallow and cash flow fluctuates, even though people search for further education all year round.

Solution (Performance Marketing): We plan launches with lead time: audiences and creatives are warmed up weeks in advance, and budget rises in stages, tied to target cost per sale. In between, evergreen funnels and email sequences sell entry-level products and build the list for the next launch.

Reference: Tobias Beck Academy and Greator

  • Almost 2 years working with the Tobias Beck Academy
  • Several thousand leads converted into product sales
  • 2017–2019 building digital marketing at Greator

For the Tobias Beck Academy, we generated leads for almost two years, several thousand in total, and converted them into product sales. At Greator, we built the digital marketing from 2017 to 2019, including automated media buying. Both projects show how closely lead generation, email and sales are connected in the education market.

Service mix

  • Funnels & landing pages (part of Performance Marketing): Quiz, masterclass and webinar funnels that we test against each other and measure all the way to the programme sale.
  • Performance Marketing: Meta and YouTube campaigns for evergreen and launch, with budget in stages and steering on target cost per sale.
  • Email Marketing: Webinar reminders, follow-up sequences after the session and sequences that lead beginners to more advanced programmes.
  • Tracking with Tracyn (partner Atmos): Server-side tracking across checkout and webinar tools, so campaigns learn from buyers rather than sign-ups.

What we steer by (KPIs)

  • Revenue per lead: Links ad costs directly to programmes and entry-level products sold.
  • Show-up rate: In the webinar model, decides how many leads get to see an offer at all.
  • Cost per consultation call: For high-ticket programmes, shows what an appointment with your sales team costs.
  • Cancellation and refund rate: Checks whether sales hold up and whether the claims made in marketing were realistic.

Timing: Strong periods are the start of the year with new resolutions and autumn after the summer holidays, when further education and personal goals are planned anew. In high summer and around Christmas we tend to plan list building rather than big launches.

Legal (to be checked by a lawyer)

  • We make sure that ads, funnels and emails contain no promises of income, revenue or success, not even indirectly via customer examples.
  • Before launch we check with you whether online programmes with learning progress checks fall under the Fernunterrichtsschutzgesetz (FernUSG, the German Distance Learning Protection Act) and need ZFU approval (from the German Central Office for Distance Learning), including offers aimed at self-employed people.
  • We make sure that testimonials are genuine and verifiable and that individual cases are not presented as typical results.
  • We ensure documented consent via double opt-in for webinar reminders and email sequences.

FAQ

From what budget does this pay off for an academy? Performance Marketing starts at €1,500 net per month per platform, and each additional platform costs €900. Email marketing starts at €3,000 per month. For funnel campaigns we recommend an ad budget from €5,000 per month. The contract term is one month, so you decide after each month based on the numbers.

Do you guarantee specific participant numbers or revenue? No. We calculate upfront with your numbers, i.e. programme price, conversion rate and previous cost per lead, and set target values from them. Whether they are reached is shown by the first month. We report openly, adjust and you decide monthly whether to continue.

Webinar, masterclass or quiz: what works better? That depends on the price of your offer and how much explanation it needs. High-ticket programmes often sell via a live webinar and consultation call, entry-level courses more via short funnels with a direct purchase. We test two to three entry points in parallel and decide by revenue per lead.

Do our online courses fall under the FernUSG? They may, if content is delivered for a fee predominantly at a distance and you monitor learning progress, for example by giving feedback on assignments. In that case the course needs ZFU approval. We are not a law firm, but we raise the topic before launch and align offer pages with your legal advisers.

Let's run the numbers on your case.
